ABOUT US
LEHIGH VALLEY BUJINKAN DOJO

The Lehigh Valley Bujinkan Dojo, located in Emmaus, PA (next to Allentown)
and supporting Eastern Pennsylvania,   is a brand new center to train in the
Ninja and Samurai martial traditions which make up the curriculum of the
Bujinkan Organization (headed by Masaaki Hatsumi of Nodashi, Japan). Like
so very many dojos throughout the Bujinkan organization, training is
conducted both indoors and outdoors and in a semi-informal setting. Our
training hall, which is a refurbished barn, does not display accomplishments
for people to come and admire. It does not have a storefront, minimall,
"commercial" feeling because that is not what this training is about. You will
not find contracts locking you into the training so that we can guarantee
ourselves a profit from your participation or lack there of. You will not find
competitiveness, egoism or any sort of intimidation. Nor will you find anyone
convincing you to train or "spoon feeding" you.

This training is a personal commitment to yourself and yourself alone. To
come and train with us is a decision to walk a very special and challenging
path that few wish to tread and even fewer possess the follow through to
continue on. How could anyone convince you to do it if it is not in your heart?

What we
are about is the development of the body, mind and spirit through
battle tested warrior arts from feudal Japan. These arts, though often referred
collectively  as "Ninjutsu" are actually separate systems of bujutsu (battlefield
technique) used by Ninja and Samurai alike and are what comprise the
international Bujinkan Dojo, headed by Soke (Grandmaster) Masaaki
Hatsumi. Although actual  Ninjutsu waza is a portion of the vast curriculum, its
essence is what permeates all of the lineages and all martial traditions for
that matter. The nine lineages or "ryuha" are listed below:

Togakure Ryu Ninpo
                                 Gyokoshin Ryu Ninpo
                                 Kumogakure Ryu Ninpo
                                 Gikan Ryu Koppojutsu
                                 Koto Ryu Koppo Taijutsu
                                 Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu
                                 Gyokko Ryu Koshijutsu
                                 Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu
                                 Kuki Shinden Ryu Happo Hikenjutsu

Training in these arts (of both Ninja and Samurai descent), helps to cultivate
within an individual a profound sense of inner strength, awareness, sensitivity,
sincerity, truth, courage and highly proficient physical skills - both armed with
any type of weapon, as well as empty handed.

THIS TRAINING IS NOT JUST ABOUT "SURVIVAL;" IT'S ABOUT  LIVING

THIS TRAINING IS ABOUT BECOMING A BETTER HUMAN BEING

THIS TRAINING IS THE WARRIOR WAY TO ENLIGHTENMENT

Soke Masaaki Hatsumi expresses our Way perfectly in the following
quotation:

"The attainment of this enlightenment is characterized by the development of
the jihi no kokoro, or 'benevolent heart.' Stronger than love itself, the
benevolent heart is capable of encompassing all that constitutes universal
justice and all that finds expression in the unfolding of the universal scheme.
Born of the insight attained from repeated exposure to the very brink between
life and death, the benevolent heart of Ninpo is the key to finding harmony and
understanding in the realms of the spiritual and natural material worlds."

If this is not what you are interested in or looking for then we are probably not
the right match for your martial arts needs.

Our dojo is comprised of a dedicated and friendly group of benevolent
hearted individuals who are not interested in competition, but instead are
seeking the martial Way to better themselves on all levels. We welcome you
to come and introduce yourself, watch a class and see if this is what you have
been searching for.     It was for us...

***Please Note:  Training is conducted in a private location
and though we welcome those wishing to attend a class,
prospective   students   MUST    set an appointment prior to
coming to the dojo. Uninvited guests will not be admitted.***
