| A NOTE ABOUT LOCATION AND TUITION We receive a number of emails from folks asking for our address so they can "drop by" and "check us out". It works differently here at our dojo. Prospective students are just that - prospective. They may or may not wish to train with us but at the same time they may or may not be permitted to either. As stated elsewhere in this website, this is not your standard "commercialized" dojo where a student may think he/she has a guaranteed right to these very old and powerful teachings merely because they are willing to break open a checkbook. Students are considered students, not customers and there is a very clear difference. It is for this reason that an appointment to be invited to watch training is required as well as the fact that it is held in a private location - not a storefront. Additionally, we often get contacted by individuals looking for something close and convenient. Sometimes one can get lucky and find a place real close to home. Often times, finding something or someone worthwhile requires a little effort and sacrifice. Soke Hatsumi learned this martial art by traveling weekly across the length of Japan to train with former soke, Toshitsugu Takamatsu. This was probably very inconvenient. Some of the most dedicated students at LV Bujinkan Dojo come from over an hour away. We also receive an even larger number of emails simply asking about the cost of training; and more often than not, NOTHING ELSE. If all you care about is price, we are not what you're looking for. This isn't a shopping trip. Our tuition fees are fair, quite reasonable and provided immediately and up front with no hidden agenda, costs or contracts. We simply do not post them for the scrutiny of the world wide web. However, the most important reason we do not post our tuition fee is: to determine who is really interested in the training. Those people will come watch a class and assess its value based on their own experience of the class and quality of instruction. How can anyone attach a value to something they have never seen and then determine just on a number if this ancient warrior tradition of NINE martial arts is worth it? We're not trying to hide our fees. If we were that focused on money or "securing someone's business" we WOULD be commercialized and probably in a public place like a storefront setting. We just want those that are really interested in the Warrior Way and care enough to make the effort to come and see what we do. |
